In Luke 8:16 Jesus shares, “No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.” Seldom when we find something special do we keep it to ourselves, instead telling a friend or family member about our exciting find.
Over twenty years ago United Christian Academy was formed to offer an alternative education for high school students, and years later opened its unique blend of academic excellence and Christian value education to the elementary levels. It has been a beacon of Christian hope and care, an educational gem in the Northeast Kingdom. Awesome and dedicated faculty not only teach academic content, but also spend time mentoring students in Christian life, partnering with parents, and going above and beyond to encourage students to find the gifts God has given them and grow into mature Godly leaders.
On February 4, from 5:30 – 7:00 PM you are invited to celebrate this hidden gem called UCA, rejoicing in the vision God placed on the hearts of our founders and in a God who has strengthened and provided in amazing ways in recent months. We will also look to God’s intended future as we unfold some new things happening at UCA and encourage our UCA families and others to join us for another year. Called “Celebrate UCA, and Save Your Seat” Night, we will also share more about the transition, giving intentional steps we will take during this Interim Head of School period, and outlining the process to secure God’s intended leader for the future. We will also unfold the new, emerging web site!
I’m so excited about the future that I can’t wait to tell you about something that impacts families – there will be no increase in tuition and fees for the 2016-2017 school year! Difficult decisions by the Board to be fiscally responsible have resulted in maintaining a balanced budget that will ensure the continuation of UCA for years to come. In addition, we are making significant efforts to raise funds directly related to increasing financial aid. Founders were committed to enable any student who wanted to attend UCA to do so, regardless of financial need. Fundraising is crucial to our ability to accomplish this.
Please note that “Celebrate UCA and Save Your Seat” Night, is a celebration not just for current UCA families. It is an opportunity to invite others to come and contemplate becoming part of this unique experience of education and characterbuilding. UCA’s growth cannot occur unless we take the light of God’s love shared here each day out from under cover and share it with others. You are the best advertisement available. Nothing compares to students or parents sharing their joy and inviting others to investigate.
This newsletter contains an invitation. Print them and share it with those you know; neighbors, friends, family. Let them know it will be an informative and encouraging evening and a chance to experience the warmth of the UCA family. Better yet – bring them with you that evening. One of you might even win the $1,000 tuition drawing. Every family attending will be entered, and if you bring a new family you will be entered a second time.
So join us. Invite others. And celebrate twenty years of God’s provision while anticipating another twenty years of faithful partnership in building leaders for God’s Kingdom and our community.
P.S.: If those you invite cannot attend February 4, then let them know about Preview Tuesdays, UCA Visit Days, and Kindergarten Visit Days. In each instance they will see the school in action, learn about the UCA experience and value, and meet some of those who make this a special opportunity. Preview Tuesday information is in this newsletter. Information on the other two events will come when dates are finalized.
