Chapel for our Lower School students is always loads of fun! During chapel our students recite their pledges to the flags and the Bible, sing worship songs set to live music led by several of our faculty and staff, followed by a fun talk from our staff, our area pastors and priests, and sometimes by special guests! Our chapels are always open to our parents!
Lower School Chapel is on Wednesdays at 9:00 am.
Every Wednesday, our Upper School students take a break from their normal schedule of classes in order to breathe and enjoy time in chapel with their friends and classmates singing and listening to God's word together. Worship for Upper School chapels are led by our very own worship team, comprised completely of students. Speakers invited to speak at chapel range from our local pastors, faculty and staff members, to special guests such as touring worship bands, artists, speakers, and missionaries. Our chapels are always open to our parents!
Upper School Chapel is on Wednesdays at 10:10 am.
UCA offers a Worship Arts education program through our worship team, under the guidance and teaching of our Spiritual Life Leader, Mr. Paul Gandy. Students in the worship team are not simply taught how to play music well, but they are taught what it means to truly lead their peers and others in musical worship. Worship Team students will learn how to organize and engineer worship services, explore different styles of worship, and further their own leadership skills. It is the hope that our Worship Team will soon be prepared to take their ministry to surrounding local churches and future tours to more distant churches, schools, and organizations.
Our goal is to not only grow our students' hearts for the Lord inside of our walls, but outside our walls in the NEK community.
Here are a few events from this 2015/2016 school year.
- Back to School Bash - Starting this past year, Upper School students put their cell phones away and camp out for a weekend of catching up over the summer and getting to know new faces. During this weekend, the spiritual tone is set for the year, helping students to hear how God desires to grow them in the school year to come.
- Community Service Days - Held each semester, the Upper and Lower school venture out into the community, led by our faculty and staff, to clear out lawns, clean homes, paint, and much more. This is a time when modeling Christlike love to our community is strongly taught.
- Cardboard Testimony Night - UCA's Student Leadership team gather together to create and lead this event. Centered around worship and sharing their vulnerabilities, students spend time being transparent with one another, encouraging each other in their faith walks with Christ.
