I have been involved in educational ministry since 1987 and have been leading christian schools since 1993. I have been married to my wife, Sue, for 32 years and together we have three children, Andrew, Vincent and, Christina.
I believe that the goal of education and learning is conformity into the Image of Christ. I am looking forward to my time here at UCA and in contributing to the future of the school.
Sixth Grade | Instructional Coordinator
Years at UCA: I have been a part of UCA since its founding. First as a parent of four (now all UCA graduates) and secondly as a Faculty member since the Lower School was founded in 2000.
Hobbies: Being outside, gardening, hiking, skiing, and going for walks
Favorite Bible Verse: Ephesians 1:17-21 (Look it up!)
It is my desire to be the facilitator that allows everyone to do their jobs well! Coordinating meetings with teachers, students, parents, helping the daily tasks involved in school life to be carried out as smoothly as possible, and encouraging all to pursue the possibilities that will bring about growth both on the individual level and as an organization are key tasks that I am engaged in as well as teaching Language Arts and Study Skills to the Middle School students and some core classes for sixth grade students!
Years at UCA: 12
Hobbies: I love spending time with the Lord, reading the Bible, spending time with my family and friends, and working at UCA.
Favorite Bible Verse: "Trust in the LORD with all of your heart; Lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight." - Proverbs 3:5,6
My role at UCA gives me the opportunity to serve the Lord by supporting the Head of School, the students and their families, my colleagues and supporters of UCA.
Spiritual Life Leader
Lower School Music | International Program Coordinator
Years at UCA: 2.5
Hobbies: Baking, Cooking, Piano/Music, Family Time, Needle Crafts
Favorite Bible Verse: Phil. 4:13
Treasurer | Digital Learning Coordinator
Years at UCA: 4
Hobbies: Playing volleyball, reading, and vegetable gardening, but mostly my free time is gladly given to my lower school son
Favorite Bible Verse: " 'For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.'" - Jeremiah 29:11
As the Treasurer I am the “money” contact person for all the families. I really enjoy getting to know all the UCA families and being able to assist with contract questions and concerns. This job also requires me to pay the bills, among a lot of other bookkeeping tasks, which are not nearly as much fun! As Online Proctor, I get to know the Upper School students taking on-line courses , most of which are foreign language classes. Monitoring student progress is my main responsibility, ensuring they stay on pace with assignments. But I will be an intermediary with their online teachers if needed.
Development and Community Relations Assistant
Years at UCA: 1
Hobbies: Singing, Reading & Parenting.
Favorite Bible Verse: "He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart." - Psalm 91:4
International Program Advisor
College and Career Advisor
Years at UCA: 15
Credentials: B.S. in Chemistry
Hobbies: Downhill skiing (which is why I love UCA), hiking, camping, canoeing, and stamping
Favorite Bible Verse: "Your word, Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens. Your faithfulness continues through all generations; you established the earth, and it endures. Your laws endure to this day, for all things serve you. If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have preserved my life." Psalm 119:89-93
For me, teaching provides the joy of walking alongside students and investing in their lives, followed by being able to stand back and watch them become what God has created them to be.
